This site is about Nizas, but in June 2001, I commuted to Paris to build our Internet company. Nizas is a small village in the south of France with no high speed communication or any broadband services, so the savings on the telephone bill just about paid for the rent on a small studio.

Actually small is a generous word, one large room with cupboards for the kitchen and bathroom.

Commuting is not so bad, the TGV (High Speed Train) goes up to 175 mph from Paris to Montpellier is about 3 1/2 hours for over 500 miles. This is very comfortable and quiet and only costs about 300 francs ($42).

I am on the "rive gauche" about 100 meters from the river Seine and the oldest bridge Pont Neuf. Within 10 minutes walk are most of the famous places in Paris, the Eiffel Tower is about 15 minutes.

To get out into the sunshine occasionally I make sandwiches and go out to take a couple of photos, so the pictures on these pages are all a very short walk from my studio, most less than 5 minutes.

I hope you enjoy them. - Best Wishes

Tony Tidswell
