How to Choose Your Lifestyle Occupancy OptionBuy a secondary home outright and you pay 100% of the purchase price plus 100% of ongoing commitments for a property you may only use 4 weeks per year. Fractional ownership means your outlay is a fraction of the property price and of the running costs. The ownership of a freehold property is shared between a handful of people who jointly own the freehold title, contents and the rights of occupation. Pleasant decisions need to be made by you concerning your occupancy choices and what is it you are looking for. Consider the following scenarios and see which appeals the most : Quarter Share - 25% property ownership - 13 weeks occupancy per year Your 13 weeks could be taken as a 'block', if for example you are retired and are escaping a northern winter for sunnier climes.
