A day in Provence and a Good Day Why change a winning formula, if it works for Peter Mayle, then it may work for me, but I was there for only one day for the launch of his DVD of "A Good Year". In fact I have never been a fan of the Luberon - most times I have visited friends the Mistral has turned the sky to a yellow dust bowl and I have watched power lines thrashing in the scarthing wind like demented slave drivers forcing galley slaves to row faster. I went expecting to be writing a negative tale and find myself writing praise for the area and, to my surprise, for Peter Mayle. Although I still would not wish to live there and an still not motivated to buy more plinky-plonk books about Provence (wherever it really is).
